This is a time to reflect; a time to collect your memories and represent them on a FOREVER stamp. Your stamps will be created on a large format and framed with a mat ready for display .

The story is not in the plot but in the telling. We will explore ways of telling our story in words and pictures. Our creations will be printed on a stamp and framed for display.

Using Markers and Colored Pencils Together

Here is a good video on the use of colored pencils and alcohol markers together to achieve depth of color intensity which is difficult to achieve by using each separately. This eliminates alot of time consuming colored pencil work. Intensity can be achieved using markers as underpainting and filling in the details with colored pencil on top. White colored pencil can be used to add highlights.

Lets Talk About Color

Consider the background color of your placemat design. It can make a huge difference in the final result. Color is a completely relative entity. No color exists in isolation. All colors are affected by the colors next to them and ,of course, everything is affected by light. One of our seniors did this placemat. She also did several other options which I will post to illustrate the point.. Coloring is relaxing,fun,and educational for all ages.
